AMT-The Association For Manufacturing Technology(founded in 1902 as the National Machine Tool Builders' Association) supports and promotes the U.S. machine tool industry. Head quartered in Virginia USA . AMT has successfully established their Technology & Service Centre and Branch Office operations in emerging economies like China, Mexico, etc. With India emerging as global base for manufacturing, AMT has recently established a Technology Centre in Chennai, India – Chennai Tech Centre (CTC). Presently the association has strength of over 425 US member companies involved in diverse fields of manufacturing technology AMT also owns and operates The International Manufacturing Technology Show ( IMTS ) held once in every two year in Chicago. It is among the largest Industrial exposition in the world and the largest of its type in America.

Job Description

Business Development Manager:

Personally conduct field sales activities (initiate customer meetings and sales presentations, interact with MP internal support people as required, write proposals/quotes and price/cost worksheets, conduct internal quote reviews as necessary, coordinate contract negotiations as needed, document sold-job scope of work for internal distribution, coordinate sold-job follow-up meetings and customer buyoffs).

bullet Personally book orders, manage and support area manufacturers’ representatives to achieve monthly and annual sales objectives.

bullet Provide sales training to representatives and customers as needed.

bullet Communicate with customers and representatives regarding new product development, sales initiatives, and other pertinent company information.

bullet Identify new markets and sales channels. Set and implement strategy for market development in those areas. Coordinate marketing research activities.

bullet Work with Members to coordinate promotions, advertising, tradeshows, new product launches, public relations, product placement and marketing collateral..

bullet Provide monthly sales reports by customer and product

bullet Requires a mechanical and/or electrical engineering background preferably with a technical bachelor's degree, with exp more than 3-20 years of sales and marketing experience. Must be familiar with internet business models and technologies.

bullet Must be fluent, read and write in key Indian languages, as well as in English.

bullet Preferably, have capital equipment sales experience in the Indian Industry.
